No question the Internet is a revolution in Information Technology, shrinking the world we are living, an amazingly vast land extending over continents, surrounded by Oceans and seas, hundreds of thousands of miles around, into a small village.  The reach is phenomenal – a person living in the other end of the Globe is just your neighbor next door.

In contrast, Satellite TV programs reach the millions of masses effortlessly through TV sets, far in number exceeding computers, in every home in all countries.  Literate or not, a kid can watch Satellite TV programs just by switching on the TV set.  Better still TV programming has come up age over the years and there are hundreds of channels classified for every age group and for every taste.

This classification of programming is the key in rendering a yeoman service to the educational purposes of children of all ages.  If seeing is believing (the basic concept of education) today’s children are very fortunate to be bewildered by the pampering of innumerable TV channels with their assorted Kids’ programs of fun, fantasy, science, fiction, animations, cartoons etc. etc. The movements of characters, colors, glittering, flashing and so on while watching the Satellite TV programs make the children glued to the TV screen.

Generations behind, children had only reading and hearing as the tools for learning education in schools and there came the Satellite TV programs that have changed this age-old concept dramatically.  So with this audio-visual media our children of today can learn a lot – lessons of life, moral values, good and bad, dos and don’ts – all of them projected through the TV screens by watching Satellite TV programs.
